As grandpa who lived in the great depression would say it don’t matter what you use to get it, it matters what you get! The question you must ask yourself is …is what I am getting worth what I used to get it? Herein real value is determined!
Now that horse sense trading principle may be too hard for some of us today, so from the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island” page 162:
When speaking of deficit spending, it is common to hear the complaint that we are saddling future generations with the bill for what we enjoy today. Why not let those in the future help pay for what will benefit them also? Don’t be deceived. That is a misconception encouraged by politicians to calm the public. When money is fiat, as the colonists discovered, every government building, public work, and cannon of war is paid out of current labor and current wealth. These things must be built today with today’s labor and the man who performs that labor must also be paid today. It is true that interest payments fall partly to future generations, but the initial cost is paid by those in the present. It is paid by loss of value in the monetary unit and loss of purchasing power for one’s wages.
Inflation is a hidden tax. Fiat money is the means by which governments obtain instant purchasing power without taxation.
“This is what would make grandpa scream. He would say what are they using to get what they are getting? Where is the equity in the trade or exchange? Where is the justice? What is fair here?”
I say we have a system we want to launch that has freedom where you decide what you are getting before you do the work or deliver the product. Our focus is first meet the need, then get the reward. We just keep score and establish some lion teeth trading rules where if you don’t perform as you said you would you are history in our system. If you are liar you are not welcome! That’s why politicians don’t want any part of it. There is no place for a varmint here. A barrel of oil will always be a barrel of oil and a bushel of wheat will always be a bushel of wheat and an hour’s worth of work is always 60 minutes! That’s what we deal in! The real stuff! The real value not the measuring rod!
Back to the book: But where does that purchasing power come from? Since fiat money has nothing of tangible value to offset it, government’s fiat purchasing power can be obtained only by subtracting it from somewhere else. It is, in fact, “collected” from us all through a decline in our purchasing power. It is, therefore, exactly the same as a tax, but one that is hidden from view, silent in operation, and little understood by the taxpayer.
The problem with this system in my opinion is there is no choice or freedom for us to use what medium of exchange we want. There is history to prove that when economic systems in distress can and do recover rapidly if government does not interfere with the natural healing process. The problem is that they have enacted legal tender rules or laws to force acceptance of their fiat money. In history the traders would simply go to another port and insisted on the real thing for their wares.
Hello America! Grandpa would say don’t show me the money but show me what I am going to get for my horse! I want real value for my horse! I can’t plow with your money. I can’t ride on your money. I can’t make your money reproduce from itself.
As it says in the book: The only way a government can exchange it’s worthless paper money for tangible goods and services is to give its citizens no choice! Remember the primary function of money is to measure the value of the items for which it is exchanged. The money is a yard stick or ruler!
Page 151: The Roman Empire never recovered from the crisis. By the fourth century, all coins were weighed, and the economy was slipping back into barter again. By the seventh century, the weights themselves had been so frequently changed that is was no longer possible to effect an exchange in money at all. For all practical purposes, money became extinct, and the Roman Empire was no more.
Page 153: LAW: For a nation to enjoy economic prosperity and political tranquility, the monetary power of its politicians must be limited solely to the maintenance of honest weights and measures of precious metals.
I say give us the freedom to exchange what we have for what we need or want without government wanting to control the exchange but only the way it is measured to be just and fair.
Back to the book page 163: Enter price controls and legal tender laws. As prices skyrocketed, the colonies enacted wage and price controls, which was like plugging up the whistle on a tea kettle in hopes of keeping the steam from escaping. When that failed, there followed a series of harsh legal tender laws. One law even invoked the specter of treason. It said: “if any person shall hereafter be so lost to all virtue and regard for his Country as to refuse to receive said bills in payment…he shall be deemed, published, and treated as an enemy in this Country and precluded from all trade or intercourse with the inhabitants of these colonies.
Rhode Island not only levied a heavy fine for non-acceptance of its notes but, upon a second offense, an individual was stripped of citizenship. When a court declared the act unconstitutional, the legislature called the judges before it and summarily dismissed the offenders from office.
Well I’ll stop for the day, but America needs to know what is going on. Read the Book …it is the best information I have seen in the last 24 years to say what I have been saying since I opened Southwest Exchangers in 1982 because the monetary system was ajar then as it still is. Let’s see what was the price of a car then? What was the wage then?
When we have the right alignment with the right professionals in the computer industry, media and graphics we will change the way business is done in this nation. The skills are there now! The technology is there now to trade in a second all over the nation. We have a plan to literally walk into every small business owner in America and Canada twice in the first six months of operation, not to mention the videos online of how our system will allow them to trade what they have for what they want! Father God we say we have the authority to command the alignment to perform our assignment to meet the needs of our neighbor! In Jesus Name. Amen.
